Evie Washington has been an active Ward 7 resident who has been working for better schools, safer community, and a new library since 1970. She was sworn in as Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) for Single Member District (SMD) 7A06 April 2011. Evie takes advantage of every opportunity to testify before the City Council Members and other organizations for positive and needed benefits and services for the community.

Evie has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Supervision and Management. She also holds a FAA Airline Transport Pilot License and she is a single and multi-engine FAA Certificated Flight Instructor.

Washington was a high level manager in the federal government before leaving to start several businesses including an assisted living facility, medical supplies and adaptive clothing for people with physical disabilities.

Evie is looking forward to working with the City Council Members, Ward 7 businesses, residents, and other groups and organizations to bring positive services and safety to the residents and community.

Evie is an ordained Elder and choir member at Sargent Memorial Presbyterian Church. She relaxes by going to plays, museums, flying, boating and traveling worldwide.
