ANC 7a offers community grants in the amount of $250. for programs and activities in the public interest within the local ANC boundary.

ANC 7a grants can fund:

  • Community engagement programs

  • Youth development support activities

The Grants Committee will review grant applications and then pass those that fit the ANCs guidelines to the Commission for consideration in a public venue.

Commission will have two grant release periods: March and September

Those interested in applying for a grant should do the following:

  • Submit a written grant application describing the purpose for which the funds are requested

  • Clearly define the public benefit

  • Outline total project costs, and list other funding sources for the project

  • The grants committee reviews it, and then the application goes before the ANC Commissioners in a public meeting for review and vote.

Within 60 days of the grant funds disbursement, the grant recipient will submit a report to the Commission showing the use of the funds, which must be consistent with the grant that was approved by the commission.

Commissioners will make final decision on all grant applications. The formal policies will be established by the grants committee in accordance with the D.C. Code, Section 1-309.13(m), which authorizes ANCs to award grants to organizations for public purposes.

The Grants Committee will appoint a contact person and decide on a regular meeting location, which will be listed on the ANC7a website.
